Trying yoga for the first time? These are the first 4 yoga poses you should start with!
One of the best things about yoga is that you can do it anywhere, anytime. You don’t need to buy any fancy equipment, special clothing, or expensive classes – you can get started right now in the comfort of your own living room!
If you are new to yoga, the first 4 poses you will want to start with are:
1.) Mountain (Tadasana)
- Strengthens back muscles and encourages good posture.
2.) Downward-Facing Dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana)
- Stretches and energizes the entire back of your body from fingertips to heels.
3.) Plank (Kumbhaka)
- Strengthens core, arms, glutes, and hamstrings, and improves balance.
4.) Cobra (Bhujangasana)
- Stretches the muscles in the chest, tummy, and back. (Start out with just a slight lift, and gradually progress to the deeper stretch shown in the video below.)
