5 Celebrities You Would Never Have Guessed Do Yoga
Even celebrities do yoga! Here are 5 that you might not suspect…
Nearly 28% of Americans have tried a yoga class at some point in their lives. It’s so popular that it has cemented a spot as one of pop culture’s tropes. Harvard Health published a report saying that there are more than 800 types of yoga, including several different styles that include modifications for various life stages, contributing to its popularity. It’s not surprising that almost anyone can find a practice that suits them. So, let’s take a look at some celebrities who you would never suspect do yoga:
Daniel Negreanu | Professional Poker Player
When people think of yoga, poker isn’t necessarily the first thing that comes to mind. Daniel Negreanu is a beast on the felt – winning six World Series of Poker bracelets, two World Poker tournaments, dominating high-stakes cash games in the late 1990s to early 2000s, and getting inducted into the 2017 Poker Hall of Fame. But on the mat, he is quite the opposite! He’s a huge proponent of practicing mindfulness and yoga. He credits yoga for helping him stay calmer during high-stress situations at the poker table.
Colin Farrell | Actor
It might be quite the challenge to picture this Irish stud on the mat, but this is exactly what Colin Farell does for fitness! The A-list celebrity and Golden Globe Award Winner has been voted as one of the world’s sexiest actors so many times that it’s hard to keep track of. We’ve now learned that yoga is what keeps him fit and youthful.
Adam Levine | Singer
You may have spotted a room with the sign “Yoga Room” if you have ever watched a backstage video from any Maroon 5 concert. This is where Adam Levine spends most of his time before each performance. The singer and former The Voice coach claims that doing so keeps his body in balance and his mind uncluttered.
Tom Hanks | Actor
Tom Hanks is one of the most recognizable actors in the world. The Forrest Gump star discovered yoga at a later stage in life. Going to the gym was not an option for him but he found what he was looking for in yoga. He says that it is the greatest thing he has done for his health and is what helps him stay healthy and spry.
Robert Downey Jr. | Actor
We all know the tragic backstory of the man under the Iron Man suit – the early stardom, alcoholism, and drug abuse that nearly ruined his life and career. Just like his character surviving Thanos’ snap, Robert Downey Jr. pulled through and became one of the best comeback actors in the world! Yoga helped him center himself and brought him to a better place in his life. According to him, it is a terrific technique to fight any kind of addiction and to improve one’s physical condition.
