Whether you have goals for your yoga practice, your relationships, or any other aspect of your life, setting a clear intention can help you achieve them.
As you go deeper into your yoga practice, you may find that you are able to make decisions more easily, or focus more clearly on what you really want. Yoga can help you center yourself and listen to the intuition that lies inside each of us. It can help you align with your deepest and truest needs and desires. It can even help you set clear intentions for the new year!

Step 1: Be clear on what your intention is.
Formulate it positively, and state it as concisely as possible. Stay away from negative and long statements of what you don’t want. Instead, use affirmative and short sentences.
Step 2: Make sure that your thoughts, the way you speak, your actions, and your attitudes are in full alignment with your clear intention.
Then take time daily to reflect by asking yourself these questions:
1. Thought – Are my thoughts in alignment with my intention? Is what I am thinking in alignment with what I want? How clear are my dreams?
2. Speech – Are my words impeccable, positive, and in alignment with my intention?
3. Action – Are my actions demonstrating my intention? Are they coming from a place of self-love and clarity?
4. Attitude – Is my attitude one that reflects my intention?
