[Pose Of the Week] Find Your Inner Calm with Happy Baby Pose (Beginner)
Enjoy the calming and relaxing benefits of Happy Baby Pose! Here’s how to do it – and why you should…
It’s almost impossible not to smile in Happy Baby Pose! This fun stretch has a number of benefits, and is suitable for all experience levels. This basic yoga pose helps to stretch the thighs, hips, groin, and lower back, while relaxing and calming the mind at the same time. This is a great pose to relieve stress and tension throughout the body, especially when combined with conscious breathing.
Use caution when practicing Happy Baby (Ananda Balasana) if you have knee or ankle injuries or if you are pregnant.
Those with extremely tight hips may wish to modify the pose by holding the ankles or the inside of the arches of the feet instead of the outside, or by placing a yoga strap around the arch of each foot and holding the straps. You can also place a rolled towel or blanket under your neck for extra comfort.
