Pose Dedicated to Sage Koormamuni with Bound Legs yoga tutorial

Stretch your hips, shoulders, & spine, improve balance, & strengthen your core with Pose Dedicated to Sage Koormamuni…

Pose Dedicated to Sage Koormamuni (Baddha Pada Koormamunyasana) is an advanced seated yoga pose that provides a deep stretch for the hips, strengthens the core muscles, stretches the arms and shoulders, and improves balance. It also strengthens and stretches the hip flexors, hamstrings, and thigh muscles, improves spinal flexibility, and is believed to stimulate the abdominal and reproductive organs and improve digestion. Traditionally, the pose is also thought to calm the mind and reduce stress and anxiety, and it may be recommended for those with infertility or sciatic issues.
This can be a challenging balance pose, and you may wish to practice seated on a folded blanket or thin cushion for comfort. If you are new to the pose, you can also practice with your back against a wall for support until you master the balance.

Those with knee, hip, hamstring, or back injuries or recent surgery to these areas should avoid this pose.
