Half-Locust Pose (Arch Salabasana) is a beginner variation of Locust Pose which will help you build strength in your back and core.
This variation on Locust Pose helps to strengthen the back of the body, while opening the front ribs and chest. This is also a good variation if you are a beginner and find full Locust too challenging.
This pose strengthens the back, core, arms, and legs, so it’s an excellent pose to help beginners start to build strength in these important areas to help prepare you for more advanced poses. It also helps you get in touch with the stabilizer muscles along the back of your body, and provides a mild abdominal stretch.
