Iyengar yoga is a unique form of yoga with a number of wonderful benefits. Although it is often used therapeutically, many individual practitioners enjoy the structure and focus of Iyengar in individual practice.

This week’s Iyengar yoga class combines an energetic awakening sequence with restorative healing to benefit your body, mind, and spirit. You’ll start off with some Sun Salutations to warm up and open up the body, and then move into a series of standing poses, hip and groin openers, twists, and more to build strength, flexibility, and stamina throughout the body.

You’ll then finish with some deep, restorative stretches, focusing on form and posture to heal the body and relax the mind. This deep inward focus will put you in touch with your body and help release stress and tension.
