[Weekly Workout] Yoga Backbends for Beginners

This is a great session to help increase your strength and flexibility in preparation for more advanced yoga backbends.

Itching to try some advanced yoga poses like One-Legged Inverted Staff Pose, but not feeling flexible enough? The beginner yoga session below will help you get there!

These are the basic, beginner/intermediate form of yoga backbends, but don’t be fooled – they’re not easy! If you’re a total yoga beginner, you may want to start with something a bit easier like cobra, up-dog, and modified camel pose before moving on to this session.

Start off by doing this session weekly, and commit to doing it for at least a month. At that point, you should start to see some noticeable improvements in your flexibility. Once you are able to easily master this session, you will be ready to move on to more challenging yoga backbends.

This 15-minute session does include several warm-up poses to prepare your body for the strengthening and stretching poses that follow, and she also includes a brief, cooling stretch session at the end.
